Tips For A Slimmer Looking Face

Longing for Kim Kardashian-esque cheekbones? Unfortunately, not all of us were blessed with such features; however, thanks to the wonders of make-up, we can fake it.

Contouring is a trick which involves using make-up to create shadows on the face; this will give the illusion of having a slimmer face, nose or even jaw line. Matte brown shades or bronzers are used to achieve this effect; Benefit ‘Hoola’ bronzer is a great choice but doesn’t come cheap at £23.50. If you are looking for more of a budget buy, the Sleek ‘Contour Kit’ is a fantastic alternative and at just £6.50 it is certainly worth it. Just be sure to stay away from bronzers containing any shimmer when using them to contour as it will be noticeable.

3 steps to contouring your face:

  1. Using an angled brush, collect a small amount of bronzer on to the brush and tap off any excess product.
  2. Tilt your head slightly or pout your lips to find the hollows of your cheeks, this is where you want to gently apply the bronzer. If you are struggling, place your bronzer in the direction from the top of your ear to the corner of your mouth.
  3. Blend the product so there are no harsh or obvious lines, just a natural shadow effect.

The bronzer can also be applied to your temples, jaw line and down the sides of your nose; all of which create slimmer looking features.
