A night in Paris – Paris city guide

Paris is synonymous with romance, beauty and history. Every inch of the city seems to captivate you with its aesthetics and old world charm. If you are on a romantic getaway with your loved one or visiting with family, there are a few destinations in Paris that simply cannot be missed. When to go

Owing to its location between the mountains of Alsace and the coast of Brittany, Paris has a two faced climate. The coldest month is January when the temperature drops to 2 degree Celsius. July is the warmest time in Paris, when the temperature is 19 degrees Celsius. Rainfall here is quite unpredictable and you can expect sudden downpours in the middle of autumn.

 

Where to go

No trip to Paris can be complete without a visit to the Eiffel tower. This structure is the most popular one in France. Built in 1889 the Eiffel Tower is an extravagant addition to a city that boasts of history that dates back many centuries. The Eiffel Tower was almost brought down when it was first disclosed, but today, is a symbol of modern Paris. There are two restaurants located in the Eiffel tower that make for a perfect romantic dinner.

If you are looking to mix history with gourmet, Le Bon Marche is the place to be. Being the first department store in Paris that was established in 1852, this is a one stop shop. What’s more? The food hall here is just amazing with a wide array of choices. Night life in Paris is impressive with one of it’s first cabarets, Moulin Rouge. Established in 1889 it is famous for its dancers.

 

Catch a taxi

Paris has over 20,000 taxis operating all over the city. Visitors can find a taxi on taxi rank, on the streets or call a radio- cab. There is a standardised rate that applies to all taxis in Paris. You can spot a vacant taxi by the light on top of it.
