Snappy Spoilers: Thor 2, Anchorman 2, Skyfall and Twilight: Breaking Dawn (Part 2)

Thor [2] The Dark World

Release Date: November 15th 2013

Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Josh Dallas

Director: Alan Taylor

Game of Thrones fans; brace yourselves for the Thor 2! GoT director, Alan Taylor, has taken over the reins from Keneth Branagh and is all set to work his magic on this Marvel lot. Taylor plans to use less of the green screen in the follow-up, and more of the green belt supposedly for more of a realistic touch. N’aww!

Nevertheless, Thor the Gargantuan God of Asgard -for those not fully acquainted – will proceed in taking us on another mystical journey… in fact, this time he’ll have more to show us (Eight more realms to be precise… why, what did you think I was talking about?)The hunky deity is set to battle against a brand new villain with his almighty Hammer of Strength during his travels.

Sufficed to say there will be whole lot of sexual tension in this sequel, if GoT is anything to go by, and especially so as Thor is reunited with his hot crush, [Portman] and another few lady friends along the way… Get in line girls!

Anchorman 2

Release Date: Winter, 2014

Starring: Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Luke Wilson, Christina Applegate

Director: Adam McKay

Anchorman is able to make even the sourest-puss go a bit giddy with laughter, what with its self-involved and generally insane characters. So when Will Ferrell announced that there was to be an Anchorman 2 a few months back we all, near-on, self-combusted with excitement.

As well all know, the Action News Team (i.e. Ferrell & co) are highly opposed to change, and in their bid to avoid it, they get themselves into some side-splitting, although not necessarily PC, situations. And this is no different in the sequel, as a 24 hour news set-up is introduced; leaving the characters bewildered at the arrival of new technology and more specifically a new culturally diversified news team.

One can only imagine how brash Ron Burgundy will react… and then proceed to wet themselves with laughter. Hopefully Anchorman 2 will meet our high expectations and give us something else to excessively quote for years to come!

Skyfall (007)

Release Date: October 26th, 2013

Starring: Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Helen McCrory, Javier Bardem

Director: Marc Forster

Will it ever end?

It seems not as the 23rd film Skyfall in the James Bond film franchise is hitting cinema screens in October 2012. Craig does his third stint as the invincible man and as always he has an evil arch enemy, some near death experiences in exotic locations (Shanghai, Istanbul and Hashima to name but a few) and a multitude of bond girls, for good measure. However there is a slight anomaly in this standard formula, one that is likely to shock even those non-fans…

The international man of mystery is on one of his most important missions to date as boss, Professor M [Dench] finds herself in great danger when her ominous past resurfaces. His self-set mission, Skyfall, sees him protecting his old friend at any cost. So, with Bond on the case do we expect M to survive?…

No, sorry M, we expect you to die.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn [part 2]

Release Date: November 16th, 2012

Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Mackenzie Foy, Ashley Greene

Director: Bill Condon

Just over a year on and Twilight is back for its grand finale *Collective sighs of relief* The pensive and brooding, or just down-right miserable couple, (depending on how you look at it) have yet another thing to sulk about. No I’m not referring to Stewarts elicit love affair. This time it’s due to their mixed-blood offspring, who has caused a bit of a commotion in the Vamp world.

The Volturi Vampire Council has gotten the wrong end of the stick it seems, believing that Renesmee [Foy] (i.e. Edward/Bella’s spawn) has been “bitten” into the vampire community rather than “born” into it. Needless to say they aren’t too happy about this, as vamp kids are notorious little rascals, and threaten to reveal everybody’s top secret identities, and entirely subtle lifestyles in which they all sparkle and fly …

The vampire clans finally come together for the ultimate showdown over the junior Cullen… but alas, the poor kid is sure to be po-faced and miserable whatever the outcome…
