Festive Fashions

Christmas… definitely one of my favourite times of year. Everything’s all ‘merry’, Starbucks has their Christmas coffee menu out, the Coca-Cola advert is bombarding our TV screens, there is suddenly a use for tinsel.

However, one thing I have always found disappointing at this time of year is the choice of festive clothing. By this I do not mean general autumn/winter fashion, I am referring to those light up Santa jumpers, Rudolph-nose-smothered everything and dangly snowman earrings.

Needless to say I’m not a fan. Christmas- inspired ensembles always seem to remind me of poor old Colin Firth in ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary‘, when he’s in that giant reindeer monstrosity? Or the clothes worn by the ‘Who’s‘ in ‘The Grinch‘ film. Ergh. Cheerful, yes. Tacky, very much so.

Anyway, this year I’ve had a change of heart; the high street has taken this yearly trend under its wing and given it a chic tweak. Even Rudolph is looking good. I can’t lie and say I haven’t seen a few pieces I wouldn’t mind myself.

Festive fashion is EVERYWHERE now, not just on ‘christmasisthebestest.com’*, and here are a few of my picks…
