I love Cara Delevingne as much as the next person. Her trademark eyebrows, the to-die-for jaw line and perfect pout me me want to cry at my own reflection during fashion month. But while Cara has been all over the news, I guess we’re not taking the time to appreciate some of the other quirky models that are out there in the fashion industry.

There are three models, that in my eyes, stand out perhaps more than Cara herself. Whether it’s the prominent facial features or wacky hair, these girls are making their way to the top spots of the model world, which are currently being kept warm by the Kate Mosses, Miranda Kerr’s and Heidi Klum’s.

So, meet the girls that are going to take over the world, kind of.

Lindsey Wixson.
If you’ve seen pictures of Lindsey, your first reaction is an automatic “woah!”. At the young age of 18, she has already stormed fashion month for the giants Chanel, Mulberry, Alexander McQueen as well as an army of other fashion houses. Her angelic combination of full lips, big blue eyes, dimples and the craved gap between her two front teeth gives her face a strange beauty that is being craved all over the world. But what is it about Lindsey that is so intoxicating? Much like Cara, Lindsey stands out from the crowd. While most models have a perfect symmetry and wonderful eyes, Wixson addds to that list with a bag full of all-American features and personality traits.

Charlotte Free.
When I first heard of Charlotte Free, it was, ironically on Tumblr. Her pink hair is the first thing you notice about the American model who was scouted at an arcade in Los Angeles. Her pink hair worked well with the trend of grunge that weaves in and out of seasons, especially during Autumn/Winter of 2011, where Charlotte modelled for Topshop Unique, Vivienne Westwood and the perfectly fitting: Jeremy Scott. Most of the ‘extreme’ fashion critics were shocked by her pink hair and took it as a gimmick for most of the designers she modelled for, especially Jeremy Scott. But we can’t deny that this grunge aura we’re getting from Charlotte is highly addictive and is making us want to bleach our hair and tint it in the brightest shade of pink possible.

Chloe Norgaard.
My favourite word ‘rad’ would be the only way to describe the LA-born part-Danish, part-Polish, part-French AND part-Irish model and DJ. Her hair resembles a bag of skittles and is desired by everyone, including me of course. She’s walked the walk for Ashish, Moschino and Rodarte, which has not only helped her to gain recognition as a model, but helped to secure her place as a successful one. Keeping positive is one mantra that Chloe lives by when she’s on the road modelling due to lack of sleep and constantly snacks on Reeses Pieces and strawberries. What I would give to be friends with this girl!

It seems as though being a bit odd-looking or quirky is the way to go this season. So if you have teeth like Georgia-May Jagger or hair that resembles a My Little Ponies tail, now is the time to reboost your self-esteem and work it like the models that are leading the way for fashion giants.
