This year is the Comeback for those good old Groovy tunes

After half a decade full of house, techno and pop songs being in the top charts it finally seems like 2013 is bringing the good old groove back.

Since Justin Timberlake’s awaited comeback with “Suit and Tie”, one groovy song after the other is being released such as “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams, who in my opinion is a genius.

When I say groovy I’m talking about music where you bend your knees, move your hips and snap your fingers, at least I do that. Many people probably first think of “Boogie Wonderland” by Earth Wind and Fire and other old goodies when they hear the word groovy.

There are a lot of old ones like that and as good as they are, it is always refreshing when artists from this generation release songs like that. “Q.U.E.E.N” by Janelle Monáe featuring Erykah Badu is one example standing out from the regular pop with a hint of rap, techno and auto-tune….

I have heard several times people saying that music is not the same and that this generation lacks talent. I don’t believe that’s the case, it’s rather that the majority of the talented artists don’t get as much recognition to reach the mainstream. If exploring more the underground scene, which many seem to be doing lately thanks to the internet, there is a range of different talented artists from all genres.

They are now starting to rise and other artists, like Justin Timberlake, are making comeback with new hits that will probably live on for years to come.
