Premier League Opening Day Revealed

Well it’s approaching that time again, the Premier League returns to our screens on the 17th August. Champions Manchester United are still expected to provide a stern title defence even with David Moyes at the helm. The shape up at Manchester City and with the influx of players and new manager Manuel Pellegrini, City are also expected to challenge. Mourinho’s Chelsea, will be revitalised and the Blues are also set to post up a fight.

Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are all expected to challenge for the top 4, as well as Everton. Newly promoted Cardiff, Hull and Crystal Palace begin their campaigns in the Premier League, Cardiff can enjoy a Welsh Derby with Swansea this season, Hull will want to emulate their past stunning campaigns in the Premier League and Palace will want to at least stay for 2 seasons and have plenty of London Derbies to look forward to.

The Opening Day:

Arsenal vs Aston Villa
Chelsea vs Hull
Crystal Palace vs Tottenham
Liverpool vs Stoke
Man City vs Newcastle
Norwich vs Everton
Sunderland vs Fulham
Swansea vs Man Utd
West Brom vs Southampton
West Ham vs Cardiff

A tough start for the Champions who go to Swansea, Mourinho will be happy with his start, a difficult fixture for Hull. Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all expected to win, a tricky trip for Spurs though, a London Derby on the opening day. Cardiff go to West Ham in several interesting opening day fixtures.

It gets tricky from a Manchester Utd point of view, the Champions’ opening five games see them play, Swansea, Chelsea, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Man City. A real test of Uniteds’ metal this season.

Once again the Premier League cooks up some fantastic prospects for us this season, the Opening Day does give off the impression that there will indeed be some suprises on the 17th August.
