Holiday in London

Like most students you are probably dreaming of flying abroad with your friends this summer. But this isn’t always possible when you’re low on funds. But don’t let that put you off! Why not try somewhere a bit closer to home and head to London!

A car is not advisable to take to London as with traffic congestion in the main central areas of London, you will be stuck in your car for hours. Why not take the hassle out of your journey and hop on a National Express coach from as little as £20 return ticket you can choose how many days you would like to spend there. If you decide to take the coach, you can either take a taxi to places you want to visit, walk (the best option, if you can!) or take the bus and/or tube. Make sure you have your days and activities planned before you get there so that you don’t miss out on great deals and end up paying a ridiculous amount of money when you get there, when you could have got it for cheaper online.

Browse on ‘places to stay’ deals online before you decide to choose an place that doesn’t suit your needs, as there are a lot of hotels, bed and breakfasts and hostels to choose from. If you book in advance you are more than likely to be saving at least up to £40!

Head for a picnic at Hyde Park or row on a pedal boat and see the many beautiful sights of the city. With a student discount card, you can get many discounts from high street brand stores to theatres. Most of London’s major attractions are free entry so you need not worry about money. One of the most popular museums in Central London is the British Museum and another great attraction is the National Gallery which displays more than 2,000 works.

If you are in need for some retail therapy, my favorite place to shop is Oxford Street, with so many shops to head to, you can spend a good old few hours on that street! Other shopping malls that I recommend are; Westfield London, open daily 7 days a week, with some of your favorite high street shops and restaurants.

The most important thing is food and London is definitely the Capital city for food. There are a lot of great value restaurants and takeaways, from Middle-Eastern restaurants to modern European restaurants. Do a little research online and see what the best recommendations are for great value food in London. Get a delicious dining experience!

So why not get your friends together and plan a last minute trip. When the sun is out, London is as good any holiday abroad!
