Young, fresh and foolish is the best way to describe 14-year-old rapper Jake Zeldin aka Lil JaXe. The Toronto native has been rapping since the age of 10, when he decided to freestyle with his friends during a rap battle.

He caught the attention of many big names like Sky Blu, Karl Wolf and Drake because of his rhymes. But what makes Lil JaXe’s so special? For starters, he has a severe speech impediment that causes him to stutter uncontrollably but goes away when he raps.

“It’s now like my second way to communicate and express myself,” he said. His family and friends were shocked but happy that he found a new way to speak to them without a stutter.

Lil JaXe decided to pursue a music career after meeting and rapping for a fellow Toronto native.

“I went to this concert and rapped for this guy; his name is Drake you may not of heard of him,” he joked. “And that got online and people thought that I was good off of that.”

Zeldin is definitely not shy when it comes to his music. He went up to Sky Blu from LMFAO and started rapping for him as well.

“I just want to like, have fun and have as many people hear me rap especially him,” he says.

A victim of bullying himself, Lil JaXe thinks it’s great to be another artist in the industry to stand up against it.

“It’s also awesome to help spread the word and to send a message that we can’t have a simple thing get in between our dreams,” he explained.

Cool Kids is Lil JaXe’s newest single that is coming out very soon and will follow up with a video as well. He also has many other projects for his fans to be looking out for.

“We are right now working on the album,” he says. “We have some amazing artist on there some crazy songs it’s going to be crazy.”
