Things to do in Murcia

Murcia is one of Spain’s least known regions, first time visitors like myself was surprised at how small the region was.  Murcia offers beautiful mountain villages and an attractive coastline. Murcia is also famous for its excellent tapas, and there are a wide range of restaurants to choose from. They have a lot of fruit and market products and these are very important to Murcia.

It’s the perfect place to stroll around, everything that you want to see is a walking distance, the beaches and restaurants are very close together!

1). Nueva Condiminium shopping centre is the largest shopping mall in Spain, with its two level mall, you are sure to find something in there to buy for yourself! They have a great selection of high street brands and have recently opened up a Zara and Primark! You can stop for lunch and the numerous restaurants they have including pizza hut. Why not stop by for a movie at the cinema complex.

2). Murcia is graced with beautiful beaches, I went to a few beaches but my favourite was the in Los Alcazares, as well as the beach it offers many local restaurants, supermarkets and shops, you can spend one whole day here!

3). With its mild temperatures in the winter months and warm summer days La Torre Golf Resort is my favourite location to play a little golf! There are a few restaurants and shops nearby. On the summer nights the bars and restaurant terraces come alive with its live music and the atmosphere is enjoyed by all.

4). Aqualandia is an hour drive from Murcia, it is situated in Benidorm, it is the biggest water park in Spain and great for the whole family! Both adults and children can enjoy their time there! Besides the water rides, the park also offers picnic areas, souvenir shops, restaurants, snack bars, ice cream parlours, kebab stalls and many more!

5). Take a stroll around the city centre and you can come across all the landmarks in Murcia, such as the Plaza Cardenal Belluga, the Episcopal palace of Murcia or why not visit the Cathedral de Santa Maria. You can find out the history of these places just by asking when you go inside, and they are worth going in to have a look and it’s great to stroll around and see what the beautiful Murcia has to offer to its tourists.
