McBusted. The ‘Super’ group?

Could this be the best music announcement of the year?

(I think it might just beat One Direction announcing their stadium tour)

Coming from a teenage girl I can without doubt say this will stand out as one of the highlights of my year; both McFly and Busted are bands that were a significant part of my childhood music playlist. Come on, who didn’t sing and dance to Year 3000 in their bedroom? Just me?

Ignoring the ridiculous name ‘McBusted’ the announcement earlier this week that McFly and Busted were joining forces to form this supergroup was greeted with immense excitement from fans of both bands. There has been an astonishing amount of praise so far. Even One Direction member Louis Tomlinson tweeted “Amazing news about @mcbusted ! When can I come watch a show haha!?” The only criticism has been aimed towards ex-Busted member Charlie Simpson as he decided the supergroup wasn’t for him as he is presently working on his solo material. However, he has expressed his support for James and Matt on Twitter on their ‘new venture.’

With almost 218 thousand followers on their joint McBusted Twitter account already, there is no doubt they made the right choice the reunion of the two bands.

Originally thinking it would be a one off occurrence especially for Children in Need, their announcement of a 2014 Tour for April and May was a pleasant surprise for many.

The Tour currently consists of dates for venues in Glasgow, Liverpool, Bournemouth, London, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Manchester and Sheffield-my fingers are crossed for additional venues including Belfast and Dublin.

Despite the tickets being £39.50 for the McBusted tour, there has been a phenomenal demand for tickets. So much so there has been extra dates added for selected venues which are predicted to sell out as rapidly as the first set of dates.

Their performance on Children in Need was a teaser of what to expect from their tour next year. All About You, Year 3000, Air Hostess and Shine a light were the classic songs that made an appearance during their performance.

Anyone else just want to get tickets to see that happen again?

The YouTube repeats just aren’t cutting it for me…
