Bucket List

Ever since I watched “The Bucket List” a few years ago with my mum, I’ve become hooked on the idea of making a list of things I want to experience before I die. I think it encourages people to go out there (wherever “there” is), have an adventure and try new things. I’ve never tried to make a physical list, so I thought I’d give it a go, and tell y’all a couple of them.

1: Go for a sunset walk on the beach

This sounds very cliché (and it is!) but I find beaches and the seaside very romantic, and a gorgeous sunset makes everything 100% more stunning. It doesn’t have to be on some exotic island; the South coast will do!

2: Be surprised with a spontaneous holiday

Can you imagine how cute it would be if the love of your life packed your bag, took you to the airport, and surprised you with a trip? I’m not the most spontaneous person, but when someone encourages me to be, it gives me a massive sense of pride and achievement. A weekend away would be so relaxing and fun, especially as you didn’t have the stress of having to organise it!

3: Camp out under the stars

In films, this tends to happen a lot with the protagonists: they go camping for weekend, sleep under the stars, and end up talking about their whole life story for the night. Although this may be farfetched, I think it would be an incredible experience. I find camping really fun anyway, and the idea of sleeping under the night sky, wrapped in a blanket with someone and talking for the entire evening sounds like an ideal thing to do in the summer.

4: Read the top 100 books of all time

Although I love reading, I don’t read enough. I tend to scroll endlessly through meaningless tags on Tumblr rather than read a book that could possibly enhance my knowledge. Hopefully, putting this on my Bucket List will change that. Out of the top 100 books of all time, I’ve only read 11 out of the 100, which although isn’t too bad, the majority of them are from the Harry Potter series!

5: Meet Mario Testino

I love photography and studied it last year at school. At one point, I explored Mario Testino’s work, and instantly fell in love with it. My favourite photoshoot of his has to be the one he did with Princess Diana. The photos of her smiling and laughing inspired my interest in portrait photography and taking photos of people naturally, rather than getting them to pose for the camera. I have no idea what I’d say to him if we met, but I know I would happily spend the day watching him work and talking to him about the passion we share.

I hope this post has inspired you to write your own Bucket List. Writing it has made me think about what I want to achieve in the future, which has been really fun! Feel free to leave a comment letting me know what’s on your list.
