Mocking Jay, otherwise known as Hunger Games 3, is the much awaited and final installment of the trilogy. Fans who already devoured the book from cover to cover would certainly be critical of the newest installment of the book’s film adaptation. And, they are in for a treat. The third installment would be divided into two parts and Part 1 is expected to be aired on November. With so many people waiting for this movie, here are some things that you should be looking forward to in the upcoming movie:
The film sticks to the book’s plot. The director of Hunger Games, Francis Lawrence, released a statement that the film adaptation will have a plot which stays true to what is written in the book. Time and again, a lot of people who read the book first could tell that there are a lot of differences between what is shown on film and how the story unfolds on the pages of the book. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether the story really followed the novel or took a slightly different path as far as the plot is concerned.
Presence of new elements in film which is not in the novel. Films have an entirely different way of telling a story as it can simply show things that take up a lot of space in the novel. In the film, you can expect to see things such as events which happen in different times in the book. These scenes would certainly give viewers a better appreciation for the story.
A closer look at Panem and the rebel president. In the third book, Katniss becomes part of Panem, the dystopian world where she becomes one of the symbols of hope and becomes one of the rebel leaders. The film will also focus on the rebel president. The film is bound to build up the president’s character more than it is highlighted in the book. After all, she is a big part of the film. Incidentally, there will be new districts which will be introduced on film and it would be exciting to see how these places look like.
The love triangle. As much as this story is about the struggle to go against a government which is too stifling and too dictatorial, of war and battles, it also tackles about the complicated love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Peeta has been captured and he is being kept at the Capitol and fans can get glimpses of what is happening to him. At the same time, Katniss is in District 13 where Gale is also in. Although thoughts of getting Peeta back is still a vital objective for Katniss, it would be hard to ignore the presence of Gale who is right beside her.
The cliffhanger: This story only makes up half off the last part of the novel, so you should expect that it will leave you more excited for the last and final chapter of the book. Obviously, it would take some time to see Part 2 and this film would surely leave you wanting to see how the film adaptation goes about the ending of this epic trilogy. Plus, the part where the film will be split remains to be a surprise which is highly anticipated by the expectant audiences.
There are definitely so many fans out there that are looking forward to this Hunger Games installment. In the same tradition that made a lot of people look forward to Harry Potter and Twilight, this is another story which is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. And, hopefully it will not disappoint.
