Christmas Beauty Picks

Christmas is a wonderful time to mix up your make-up look and delve into all the beauty products you have accumulated over the year. Red lips, contoured cheeks and full lashes – Christmas is the perfect time to over indulge in all things beauty and I am here to offer some tips and advice on how to get the most out of your make-up this season.

First things first, the infamous red lip. Christmas time is encapsulated with all things red and gold, therefore why not display this on your face for the world to see! A red lip that I would highly recommend and which is totally in right now is the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in ‘So Marilyn’, a darker red than usual yet one that is highly flattering on any skin tone. However, if you are battling with a student budget or just simply refuse to spend £23 on a lipstick then a cheaper alternative is the Kate Moss lipstick in ’01’, the perfect red lip in my opinion – with a glossy finish it really adds that extra sparkle that you could have been missing in these months leading up to Christmas.

For those of you that are not aware of what this is, it is simply the art of sculpting the face using either a cream or powder matte bronzer – to either make your face look slimmer or more angular. It seems crazy right? To  be able to change the shape of your face by simply applying some product to your cheek bones. But honestly, it’s a real beauty hit! A contouring powder available on the high street which I would highly recommend is the Bourjois bronzing powder, it’s matte and has a grey undertone rather than an orange one, therefore will not turn you into a shiny glitterball (despite it being Christmas). At £7.99, this product is a real bargain and will hopefully bring some colour and definition to these pale months of winter.bourjois bronzer

Finally, if you’re wanting to add something a little extra to your make-up this Christmas, an easy and subtle way to do so is to use a glittery liquid eyeliner. It might sound daunting, however a thin gold line above the lash line can really make a difference to an ordinary make-up look. So many affordable yet brilliant brands do these, for example Barry M has a vast range of colours that will flatter all eye shapes and colours for only £4.99. If you’re a blue eyed beauty go for darker tones such as  dark browns or taupes, this will make your eyes pop. Or, if you’re that brown eyed girl be daring and go for something bright, maybe a turquoise or an electric purple!Barry M Eyeliners

So, spice things up this Christmas and be a little daring with your make-up. You do not have to spend a fortune to achieve something beautiful – Get down to your local beauty supplier and rock that red lip!
