Take a cheap city break in Europe this winter

If you’re like me and you just don’t fit well with the cold English weather then join me on a city break this winter and let’s attempt to get a tan! (It wouldn’t happen for me, I’m what they call an ‘English Rose’)

With such a wide range of appealing cities all over Europe you really are spoilt for choice, each of which can fulfil your needs. Whether you want to go and climb the Eiffel tower, visit the Notre Dame de Paris whilst scoffing your face with a vast array of pastries in Paris, or whether you want to take a romantic ride down the Grand Canal in Valencia, Italy – Flybe offers some of the cheapest flights around, so what are you waiting for!

Now we can’t deny ourselves some luxury shopping sprees whilst away on a city break (especially after you realise how much money you have saved booking flights etc.) so why not grab some friends and travel to somewhere like Barcelona or Rome?

With Barcelona offering over 35,000 high street or top level fashion labels to suit all our shapes and sizes you really cannot imagine anything better (besides the fact that the majority of the large shop are air conditioned.) Situated in the Ramblas, through Placa de Catalunya and up Avenue Diagonal you also get to admire the views along the way without having to be too pre-cautious about traffic. The majority of the shopping line is pedestrian friendly, allowing you to walk freely and let those bags and bags of goodies sway back and forth comfortably. Also, a tip for non-European residents – you can shop tax free in Barcelona so make sure you keep your receipts and claim back your tax after that extravagant spree!

If you’re not one for shopping then there is no need to worry, you can visit beautiful cities like Berlin or Munich.

Soak up the German culture and admire the impressive roster of art galleries, museums and historic buildings. If you really want to get involved in the fun, go in October or December where you will witness the annual Oktoberfest (beer, lots of beer, drinking, dancing and traditional clothing – it really is one of the best experiences you could ever be a part of) or if you decide to go in December you can find something special for those loved ones by visiting one of the many Christmas markets, or feel free to treat yourself, we won’t judge. Then ease into the night with a beautiful view of your surrounding city of if you’ve still got any energy left you can visit one of the many lively night clubs, either get down and ‘drop it low’ or go to a ranting rave. The choices are endless!

If you’re reading this and you decide you want to come to London, well, I can assure you that you won’t get a tan! But you are in for a treat, from the dazzling views and tours, and some of the most popular shopping centres in the world you will never be short of daily activities. I will make a deal with you, if you need a tour guide, I will be more than happy to help!

Wherever you go, whatever you do, make sure you have make the most of your experience!
