Enjoy a garden to be proud of in your home

With summer fast approaching, its time to dust off those shorts, find those t-shirts, and buy a new pair of sunglasses – it’s going to be a hot one. We don’t know about you, but we are excited for summer and what comes with summer!

Along with summer comes a phenomenon known as ‘happy people’, who would have thought it? You can’t help but appreciate the warmer weather and the opportunities for barbecues, beer gardens, and spending more and more time outside whenever you can, within reason, of course.

So, when summer does arrive, you will surely want to have a garden that is readily equipped for gatherings at any moment? A spur of the moment day out can happen, it can! Here are our top tips to ensure you have a garden that you can be proud of this summer:

Winter is gone so get the trimmers out

We know it has been a while, but it is time to cut the grass and clean up the garden if you want to be taking advantage of it this summer. A weekend afternoon spent cleaning the garden and making sure everything is good to go will leave you with all summer to mess the garden up again and let the grass grow out naturally, all while having a complete blast along the way.

Barbecues and barbecues and barbecues

What is a garden in Australia without a barbecue? There is no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than having the entire family round and everyone enjoying a summer barbecue with all the trimming – food babies are expected. This doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a Sunday barbecue either; barbecues are more than welcome on a Sunday, too.

Garden furniture is a must

If you are expecting visitors and friends to pop round at some point during the summer, you had better ensure that you have enough chairs and a big enough garden table for everyone to sit and gather together. Fold away chairs, plastic chairs, it doesn’t really matter, just make sure that you stock up with enough seats for everyone and you won’t find yourself sitting on the floor.

Garden improvements for a summer to remember

Those of you who are lucky enough to have a pergola or decking area will no doubt know the benefits of having one – a peaceful setting to relax, a relaxing area where you can place your chairs and table, a decking area is the ideal spot to spend all weekend. Of course, decking areas are also in need of a little loving and care; we recommend you take a look at timber treatment information at Softwoods.com.au to ensure your decking area is shining as brightly and beautifully as possible this summer.

Respect the neighbours

An obvious one, but if you have neighbours, just remember that they do actually live close to you and could spend all night stressing out over your actions and noise. Remember, it is a garden, not an enclosed soundproof room, so some general respect towards one another will be appreciated by both sides of people.

And that’s it; you are ready to enjoy your summer and your garden!
