Considering a Tattoo?

There are a number of things to consider when choosing the person to give you a tattoo. First and foremost, you want to make sure that they are working with sanitary tools and that their tattoo parlour is clean and sanitary to prevent infection. If the tattoo parlour is clean, chances are that they take the time to properly care for and sanitise their equipment as well. Finding Ink is a great place to start.

Since everyone has their own artistic style, you will want to check out their previous works to see what they can do. You may or may not like their type of art, and, if not, you should keep searching for a tattoo artist that does the kind of work that you want to be done. A tattoo is kind of a big commitment. You want to make sure that you are going to be happy with your new tat. You need to do a screening process of your own beforehand. Most tattoo artists will be able to show you a portfolio of their previous work so you can see what they can do.

Ask Around

A good way to gauge a tattoo artist is to talk to others who have gone to them and to see the kind of tattoos that they have gotten. There are also many different websites that will offer reviews of their establishment and customer service, etc. If they are really good, they may even have awards for their skills. Your tattoo artist should also be licensed and certified. Their license and certification should be on display and up-to-date.

Something to Get Excited About

Getting a tattoo can be very exciting as you are adding to your collection of tattoos, or you may be starting with a fresh “canvas.” Tattoos are an art form and a fun way to express your individual personality. There are seemingly limitless tattoos to choose from, and you can even design your own if you want something that no one else has. Tattoos can also be a way to remember loved ones who have passed away or can also showcase your children or significant other. Tattoos can symbolise your heritage and can also tell a story.

Tattoos Are Nothing New

Tattoos have been around for a very long time, and they’re more than just a fad. Tattoos have changed over the years, but they are here to stay. Tattoos have been used by various tribes over the span of time and the ancient Roman and Greek cultures saw tattoos as a thing of beauty. Tattoos have been accepted more cautiously in the Western world. They were at first seen as something foreign and unknown, but they have eventually become as much a part of our culture as the many others around the world.

Everybody’s Doing it

These days it is hard to find someone who has not gotten a tattoo, it seems. All classes of people get them. Even the elderly are getting tatted up, and many married couples tattoo their wedding bands on rather than getting the more traditional rings.

Tattoo Stats

About 20 percent of adult Americans have at least one tattoo these days, and about 22 percent of millennials have one or more tattoos according to statistics. Adults between the ages of 25 and 39 are probably going to have a tattoo. Women tend to get tattoos more often than men. It is estimated that as much as 58 percent of women have a tattoo.

Get a Little or a Lot

You don’t have to be rich to get a tattoo, as a small tattoo will run right around $45. A larger tattoo will probably cost upwards of $150. You can also build on your tattoos. No one gets a whole sleeve in one sitting. You can add onto your existing tattoos to make them bigger and to tell more of a story. Or you can keep it small and sweet.

You are more likely to love your tattoo if you plan ahead and decide what you want before you go to the tattoo parlour. You should at least have an idea of what you want to have done.
