12 Days of Christmas: Five Bond Rings!

On the fifth day of Christmas Yuppee gave to me, feel free to sing this bit: Five Bond Rings! (Four Calling Birds, Three French Men, Two Turtle-necks and a Partridge in a Pear Tree).

Another day, another exciting collaboration for British jeweller Stephen Webster. To celebrate the release of the latest James Bond film, he has teamed up with the king of crystal, Swarovski, to produce Skyfall, a jewellery collection that encapsulates the on-screen glamour of the world’s most famous spy. And though they are not gold – they are exactly what we bring you on the fifth day of Christmas.

The Austrian jeweller Swarovski has worked with costume designers on the James Bond franchise ever since Barbara Bach wore an evening gown adorned with the company’s crystals in “The Spy Who Loved Me,” and the partnership has continued in the latest film in the series “Skyfall” – including pendants, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and five bondy-rings.

The designer primarily employed black crystals — with splashes of clear ones — to create four collections for Swarovski around the themes of Love Knot, Black Bamboo, Heat Seeker and Queen Cobra. The jewellery pieces are worn by the characters in the film and have also been released commercially.

Webster’s use of black and clear crystals creates a striking depiction of Bond’s darker side and the Love Knot theme recalls the Algerian love knot featured in Daniel Craig’s first outing as Bond in Casino Royale.

The 5 rings we’ve spied in the collection are (from left to right) Stephen Webster’s Heat Seeker ring, Love Knot ring, Queen Cobra ring, Queen Cobra Double ring and Slim Love Knot Ring.

Several pieces in the collection give off that aura of danger and eroticism, mixed with style and elegance, typical of the Bond girls. Get one of the five bond rings to make this a very Merry Christmas.
