Who are your biggest music influences?
SK: I love The Beatles, they show what four regular boys can do if they put their minds to it. I also love songs that tell a story so I’m a sucker for country music.
SS: We bring lots of 60’s influence into the band as we all listen to older music. We have a beatlesesque vibe with a modern edge.
TH: Our main collective influence would have to be The Beatles for their genius song writing and vocal harmonies.
What would you say has been your best performance so far?
SK: I enjoyed headlining Brighton Rocks at Sticky Mikes Frog Bar. That night it hit me that we were special, I felt like The Nuts could be unstoppable.
SS: Brixton Jamm was good. Simon played after coming out of hospital the same day, that’s Rock n Roll for you.
JM: There has been a few to be honest. Headlining a Brighton rocks gig was a really good one. They are all good for their own reason.
Have you any embarrassing band stories to share with us?
SK: There is an embarrassing video of us on Youtube. We are jamming Rude Boy by Rihanna on a train. We were all very intoxicated.
SS: Tom fell off the podium dancing in a club in Brighton once. (Sorry Tom)
JM: Just silly moments every now and again but that is what makes us who we are.
It’s time to name names, who is the biggest diva in the band?
SK: No one I would say is difficult. I am always moody after a performance though, always wanting better songs or to change something. I think that helps push us forward though.
SS: We all have our moments. Tom was bad one night when he wouldn’t give me a chip. Couldn’t believe the reaction I got.
JM: I dunno, Tom manages to suit any clothing he decides to wear regardless.
TH: Simon Keet.
So guys, where do you hope to be in five years time?
SK: Happy and content with a hit record.
SS: Somewhere hot, it’s freezing right now!
JM: If I only knew that. Hopefully continuing to enjoy it all.
TH: On a tour bus in America.
And lastly, describe to our readers The Nuts in one word.
SK: Climax.
SS: Priceless.
JM: Crackin’.
TH: Thenuts.
