Bands Everyone Should See Live: Part Two

NEW FOUND GLORY

After over a decade touring almost solidly you’d think that the quality of a bands’ live performance would begin to get dull. But not for pop-punk kings New Found Glory. They bound around the stage with endless energy each night delivering every crowd with true pop-punk classics that come from their impressive back catalog of 7 full lengths, 2 EP’s and 2 cover albums.

With so many hits to choose from and their knack for playing covers -you’ll be questioning who the original is by – no two New Found Glory shows are the same. However, you’re guaranteed to feel the need to jump, head bang and yell back the catchy lyrics of fun anthemic tunes to the almighty influencers of new age pop-punk.

YOU ME AT SIX

England’s very own You Me At Six have come a long a way from when they started out playing small venues but what hasn’t changed is their ability to play a fantastic set. The five Surrey lads took on Wembley Arena back in December – which you can see for yourselves on the live DVD – and they put on a spectacular show that was not only musically, but visually, impressive with confetti, streamers and smoke machines. The five were always good musicians that played well live, but years of touring has turned each of them into perfectionists that shine and deliver a flawless set night after night. Finding the right balance between old and new material is something many bands struggle with causing disappoint in fans, but You Me At Six seem to always get it right, as well as constructing their set lists with the right amount of slower songs to allow everyone a much needed chance to breathe.

Songs from their first album Take Off Your Colours provide feel good sing-a-longs and when they toured with the likes of Paramore gained them their initial fan base that were witness to Hayley Williams joining them on stage for album highlight “Always Attract”. Their next release Hold Me Down had new fans forming by the minute with songs such as belter “Stay With Me” and “Underdog” becoming firm staples on their set lists and ensuring mosh pits are formed at every show. But there is no better live performance than that of perfect angry song “Bite My Tongue” from their third album Sinners Never Sleep. Expect the entire room to turn into a crazed giant pit with everyone sticking their fingers up to whoever they are bellowing the lyrics about.Taking on a rockier approach, compared to their previous pop-punk sound, the album is brimming with killer tracks that will get stuck in your head for days and ensure nothing but an energetic intense live show.
