I really like New Girl. And I mean really like it. In fact, I think it might even be my favourite show of all time. One of the many reasons I enjoy it so much is because I’m a little bit in love with Jessica Day. What’s the reason behind this particular girl crush? Because she’s cute and sassy and fun and isn’t afraid to make a fool out of herself if it’ll brighten someone else’s day. What’s not to love?

1. Her Style

Skater dresses,  bold patterns, bright colours, flats, and those trademark oversized glasses, Jess has got her style down to a tee.

2. Her Attitude

Jess might try to be everybody’s friend, but that doesn’t mean she  won’t speak her mind when the time is right.

3. Her Job (satisfaction)

I don’t want to be a teacher, so I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I envy Jess’ job, but I do envy her job satisfaction a little. I just love how much she loves it, y’know?

4. Her Sense of Humour

Jess doesn’t take herself too seriously; even when things get rough she doesn’t let it get the better of her. Ever the happy-go-lucky heroine we know and love, when the chips are down, Jess is always on hand with a crazy costume and a goofy grin to help turn that frown upside down.

5. Her Love of Food

Jess loves food, in all its glorious and varied forms. Enough said.

6. Her Love of all things Weird

Jess knows she’s just a little bit crazy. But you know what? She’s okay with it. She’s embraced the weird with open arms, and I think that’s awesome.  ‘Aint nothing wrong with a little bit ‘o weird.
