5 Epic Ideas For NYE 2020

New Year’s Eve is coming up, and while it’s always a pretty big deal anyway, 2020 is even more special. A new year, a new decade, a year where the same two numbers are repeated, something which only happens once every century, so you may as well celebrate in style and make it a night to remember. Not sure what to do, then check out this list for some epic ideas!

Make Moves In Miami

Miami’s the place to be this New Year, you have the choice of going to Pitbull’s VIP food and Wine party (if you can afford it), go and see Snoop Dogg at E11even, The Jonas Brothers at Fontainebleau, or Marshmello at LIV. But if none of those are enough to float your boat, then you could rent a yacht in Miami and have a boat party, head to Nikki Beach which is also celebrating its 20th Anniversary or head to the Nightgarden for a light and special effects show.

Rave in Rio

Rio is another good option; you could spend midnight on Copacabana Beach in the heat where you can enjoy live entertainment to an impressive fireworks display. It is also believed that wearing white brings good luck for the year ahead, so feel free to get involved with that tradition, maybe don’t spend too much on a new sparkly outfit as it’s likely to get a bit dirty.

Carry On The Party In Cape Town

In South Africa, you won’t want to be anywhere but Cape Town’s Victoria & Albert Waterfront. The gig and midnight fireworks display are world-famous, and there are many fantastic places to eat, dance and generally be merry. But, what’s so great about Cape Town is that the fun doesn’t stop on New Year’s Eve as celebrations continue onto 2nd January, thousands of partygoers head to the beach, and thousands more head downtown to watch 10,000 performers dance and perform in the Cape Town Minstrel Carnival.

Enjoy Edinburgh

Another three-day party is, of course, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. Starting on 30th December with the Torchlight Procession, thousands of torch carriers light up the streets from the Royal Mile to Calton Hill where a spectacular fireworks display occurs. Then on New Year’s Eve itself you’ll want to be on Princes Street, where the party spills in and out of the pubs, with 80,000 people coming together for the largest street party in Scotland, all accompanied by big names at the Concert in the Gardens, which is this year headlined by Franz Ferdinand.

Hang Around The Hong Kong Skyline

Hong Kong has a skyline that’s to die for, and the main fireworks display is at Victoria Harbour, where there’s also music, a laser show and choreographed lights to create a unique audiovisual treat. However, if you go to the waterfront, it’ll be far too busy and crowded for you to be able to get a good view, so it’s much better to head to a local hotel with a good rooftop bar. You might also get a bit of extra entertainment there too.
