Superheroes who flopped in the film industry and superheroes who flew up and up

Batman

This is the first Batman film ever made and originally starred Michael Keaton as the infamous Bruce Wayne and was directed by Tim Burton in 1989. This was one of the first superhero characters to be turned into a big blockbuster film and boy did it fail to disappoint. It follows the classic storyline of how Bruce Wayne becomes Batman and is on a mission to avenge his parents’ death in Gotham City, fighting the psychotic villain, The Joker played by Jack Nicholson. This film has tragedy, comedy and action with all the exciting gadgets including the original Batmobile. This film was a huge success and made a cracking $412,000,000 and also won Academy awards and Golden Globes. This Batman was then followed by Batman Returns three years later, which also saw Keaton return into the character of Batman and was again directed by Burton. This film uses no CGI and still entertains with its gripping storyline and epic butler, Albert played by the memorable Michael Gough.
