Fairytale in New York

It’s that festive time of year! But where is the most perfect place to spend Christmas?

Okay, picture this.

The neon glow of Times Square through the white of the snowflakes, bright colours everywhere you look. Ice skaters under the Rockafeller, glamorous 5th avenue windows and beautiful Christmas lights. The clear, crisp air and the smell of roasting nuts on the corner of every block. The bitter cold sting on your face but the sweet warming taste of hot chocolate to make it better. Beeping horns, music and thousands of conversations going on at once. All of your senses tingling in the city that never sleeps.

I love New York. It is my favourite city in the world. Classical and timeless, yet modern and cosmopolitan. It has a magical feel about it. You can be anything you want to be in NYC. A movie star on the set of the latest blockbuster, or a princess exploring the city for the first time outside of the castle walls. They say if you make it there you can make it anywhere. You can get lost and find yourself at the same time, completely relax and just embrace the electric atmosphere.

There is so much to see and do. You find yourself constantly looking around in awe. Countless sites to visit and some fabulous places to drink and dine. Shopping in New York is the best in the world. You can get all your pressies sorted and treat yourself at the same time! You totally deserve it!

The big apple is particularly enchanting at Christmas time. Everyone in New York seems to be on a natural high in December. Christmassy cheer fills the city, it creates an atmosphere that you cannot beat. Perfect for that cheeky winter escape with that special someone.

Top picks for that perfect fairytale Crimbo

*1* Ride a horse drawn carriage through a snow covered Central Park (and if it isn’t snowing you can just use your imagination!)
Très romantic.

*2* A trip to one of the most magical stores in the world, Tiffany and Co.
Oh so classy darrrrhling.

*3* Experience a Broadway show. My favourites are Mary Poppins and the Lion King.
You can get these at great discounted prices at TKTS in Times Square

*4* A Hudson River cruise, is the most relaxing way to see the sites and the stunning skyline Manhattan has to offer.

*5* Feel on top of the world, up on the 86th floor of the Empire States Building. It boasts breathtaking views of New York.
And 4 other states. Pretty cool.

Merry Christmas and here’s to an unforgettable 2013!

Cheers.
