Adele gets an interesting honour…

What do Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse have in common?

Yes, they’re all music artists and have been known to be a little crazy in the past. But I’m talking more about the figures, if you know what I mean. No? Okay well basically, they’re all honoured by twin-like statues at waxwork gallery Madame Tussauds.

I, personally, remember my first trip to Madame Tussauds as a kid with my two aunties, Alex and Mina. I was super excited to step inside the doors and be pictured with frozen famous people, because thats what I thought they were: popular singers and wonderful actors who had looked into the eyes of Medusa. Walking around, you really get the sense of excitement as people marvel at the intrinsic designs and similarities between the real deal and their wax doppleganger.

To this day, I’ve been to Madame Tussauds twice and I still have photographs from both trips. The most recent trip happened days after my sixteenth birthday where I got the honour of “meeting” and having my photo taken with the waxy version of Miley Cyrus. I don’t think I can relay to you the excitement that I felt, knowing that one of my favourite teen-stars had been placed in her own pink, well-lit room. (I’ll let you into a little secret: the picture is pinned to my notice board in my room…)

But the reason I mention this wax wonder house and happy memories of my time there is because of their new addition, which is to be added soon. After winning a Grammy, a Brit AND an Oscar this year, Adele is being honoured for her fabulous and talented work with a waxwork model of herself at Madam Tussauds.

The North London-born star will be inducted in July, wearing the famous polka-dot gown from the 2012 Grammys where she picked up an outstanding six awards.

Maybe Summer will be the time I make my third trip and get my picture taken with the gorgeous Adele. Oh, the excitement is coming back to me!
