Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese is finally back on the big screen with the long awaited Leonardo DiCaprio collaboration, The Wolf Of Wall Street.
The film follows Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio), a real life Wall Street stockbroker whose lavish lifestyle ends in dramatic downfall and eventual imprisonment. Tingling with excessive opulence and reckless behaviour, the energetic trailer teases some pretty wild antics. And with Kanye West’s recently released, Black Skinhead, blaring overhead, this movie isn’t going to go unnoticed.
Clearly, this is not your average Scorsese outing; there’s little out right violence, and a lot of humour. There’s parties, there’s 100$ bill showers, there’s even ‘midget throwing’. And Leo has a pet monkey… and he break dances. There’s also a supporting cast to die for including, scene stealer Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill, who is still riding high at the top of his game. Jean DuJardin, Kyle Chandler, Jon Favreau, Margot Robbie and Rob Reiner round out the list.
And with that November release date in place, we’ll hopefully be looking at a bucket load of Oscar nods.
Wolf makes it the 5th collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio; a pairing that is, quite frankly, long overdue for some straight up Academy award love. Will this finally be the one for Marty and Leo?
The Wolf of Wall Street is in cinemas November 15, 2013.
