Visiting Toronto

If you plan on making your way to Canada anytime soon, there are many cities to explore that will give you an amazing experience. One of my top destinations would be Toronto. It’s filled with fun activities, breathtaking sights, friendly people and a rich history. It’s also affordable. Between finding cheap flights to Toronto with Air Transat, and a variety of free activities (museums, shows, movies in the park), it’s a trip that will be light on your wallet. Here are my top picks of things to do while in the lovely city.

Top of the world

If you have a fear of heights, this is an ideal opportunity to overcome it. While at the bottom of the CN tower, the urge to see the view from the top will surely be stuck in your mind. With the view from up there, you can see the whole city and it is remarkable. Once at the peak, you can enjoy a drink or food at the 360 restaurant. For all the thrill seekers, Edgewalking is another option. EdgeWalk basically consists of walking hands free around the top of the tower while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system. You will get to see Toronto with a whole other perspective.

Get soaked

When most people think of Toronto, they think of Niagara Falls. It’s a sight that can’t be missed, a must-see. With a variety of different view-points and packages, you can pick the one that’s right for you. If you want to get up close and personal, get soaked, or just view them from the top. Even dining at a nearby restaurant while hearing the falls in the background is an option. Whatever you decide, it is one of those things that will be engraved in your mind forever.

Distillery District

If you feel like having a little taste of Europe while in Canada, the Distillery District is the place for you. It’s located in downtown Toronto and will give you a break from the rest of the typical sight-seeing. Feel free to walk around the pedestrian only zone and discover the numerous boutiques, cafes, shops, galleries and famous restaurants. So you get to relax, shop, eat all while learning a little history about the Toronto area. The Victorian style architecture is truly unique and is quite the sight. There are often events and shows on the weekends, so be sure to inform yourself before your visit.

Overall, Toronto is such a fun and vibrant city with great people. There are so many events and activities to be done year round, that there surely won’t be a dull moment in your trip.
