Seth McFarlane graces us with his full bodied presence, which makes a change from just his loveable voice, in this hilarious western comedy with a star studded cast with the likes of Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried.
It tells the story of a, strangely and surprisingly attractive young man (McFarlane) who hates the west apart from his sweetheart, Louise (Seyfried). As he starts the quest to win back her love, he encounters a possible new love who makes him realise the west, maybe, isn’t all that bad.
Obviously, this being a McFarlane epic its layered with hilarious jokes and, of course, very near the mark satirical comedy. It didn’t fail at all to have me laughing out loud regularly, along with the rest of the audience in the cinema. Plus, if you’re just a good old western fan then I think this would make you laugh as its pokes fun at the stereotypical western and if you’re a Back To The Future fan then just wait and see.
McFarlane is as good a comedic actor as he is a writer, his timing and banter with the other characters is just perfect. It’s brilliant, also, to see Seyfried back to a comedic role since her fantastic and memorable debut as Karen in Mean Girls.
A great films and laugh, 5 out of 5 stars.
