Korean Air Changes Business Class By Introducing New Prestige Suites

Korean Airlines is one of the best airline companies in the world. It provides superior inflight services and never stops surprising their passengers with numerous positive changes and upgrades. Indeed, the company is constantly looking for ways on how to improve their inflight services and amenities. Recently, the airline has started improving their Korean Business Class cabins and announced a presentation of their new ‘Prestige Suites’.

The main distinctive feature of the new ‘Prestige Suites’ is their staggered position, aimed at improving personal comfort of passengers. In addition to the improved comfort, business class passengers will also enjoy an increased privacy level and a larger personal space, provided by the privacy panels. Such staggered position of seats gives each passenger an access to an individual aisle and also deprives window seat passengers from the discomfort of crossing over their sleeping fellow passengers, every time they need to get to the aisle.

When transforming the seat into a bed position, business class passengers have the option of pushing the armrests down and therefore making the bed 1.5 inch wider. Thus, the width of a bed with the pushed down armrests makes 22.5 inches, which is more than enough to rest well during the flight. The seat pitch on the window aisle has been increased by one foot and now makes 87 inches.

In-flight entertainment system of the new Prestige Class will be also upgraded. Each suite will get a 17-inch touch screen with a video panel controller. In addition to traditional games and films, Prestige Class passengers will be offered to watch an in-flight air show that will give some useful information about the flight, like for example, the flight path of the airliner.

The first aircrafts that will get the new Prestige suites will be Korean Airs’ A330-300s, performing flights to Hanoi, Singapore and Guangzhou. Later the new suites will be installed on twelve B77-300ERs, ten B787-9s and B747-8s and also on 6 additional A330-300s.

Korean Airlines does not forget about its First class passengers and has announced the introduction of an upgraded First Class that will take place this year. The main aim of Korean Airlines is to become “a leading global carrier”, which the company tries to achieve by regular improvements of their First and Business class products.
