Nicki Minaj Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded Album Review

Nicki Minaj, an American hip hop artist, released her second album titled Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in April 2012. Produced by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Universal Public Records, the album has been divided into two distinct parts. The first features tracks on hip hop and the second on dance and pop songs.

List of Tracks

The album offers 19 tracks with popular guest vocalists such as Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown among others. The first track is called Roman Holiday and has a good rap portion by Minaj. The song has some psychotic and quirky lyrics which may not be suitable for all age groups. Come On A Cone is the second track on the album and is a significant improvement over the first.

Some of the other songs included in the album are Beez In The Trap, I Am Your Leader, Right By My Side, Champion and HOV Lane. The title track Roman Reloaded has Lil Wayne as a guest vocalist. With six small verses, the track has an interesting setup. This is one of the most solid tracks on the album.

General Review and Rating

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded came in for some flak among critics as this was Nicki Minaj’s first entry into the pop world. Critics believe that Minaj should do what she does best and stick to rapping. In the first part of the album, Minaj uses her signature theatrical and witty style of music which is what resounds in the mind of a listener at the end of the day. Since the album was divided into two, the music seemed slightly scattered and unconnected.

The rating given to this album is 3 stars out of 5.
