THOR 2: THE DARK WORLD
RELEASE DATE: 30th October
STARRING: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Zachary Levi, Anthony Hopkins
FIRST THOUGHTS: Arriving much later in the year and hoping to capitalise over the (usually disappointing) Halloween period, is Thor: The Dark World. With the original cast still in tact and a few exciting additions, Zachary Levi and Christopher Eccleston, this could be the best superhero movie of the year. Thor’s nemesis this time round is Malekith, the powerful leader of the Dark Elves. Again, there’s no trailer to pick apart, but a quick Google search reveals some exciting on-set pictures. Director Alan Taylor may not be a known name, but his résumé includes credits for Game of Thrones, Mad Men and The Sopranos so he has experience with big budgets and ensemble casts.
VERDICT: MUST SEE IN THE CINEMA
So there we have it. Five upcoming superhero movies to look forward to in 2013. Next up, I’ll be previewing the five most exciting sci-fi movies in 2013, so look out for that.
