The Material Girls Guide to Fabulous Las Vegas (Part I)

Is there anywhere more fabulous than Vegas baby?!

Fabulous places to party

If partying on an open air rooftop club, overlooking the strip is your kind of thing, do not miss a night at Voodoo! Voodoo has a beautiful 360 degree panoramic view restaurant, open air lounge and the most unique club in LV, 52 stories up. Electric atmosphere, top Djs and fishbowl cocktails bigger than your head. Why would you not fancy this?!

If you’d prefer a classy evening, dancing under crystal chandeliers and sipping champagne head to the Bank at the Bellagio. This club has class written all over, and they sure know how to have fun.

One of the biggest celeb hotspots on the Vegas club scene is Studio 54 in MGM studios. This club is perfect if you want to be a superstar for a night, dancing to the most recent tunes ‘til sunrise. Make sure you get yourself on the guest list… we walked past the queue and straight in. It’s great to feel like a VIP!

Moon, Playboy, Ghostbar and Rain are the perfect club night combo at the Palms. Be sure to check the diary for celeb DJ’s and appearances, as the Palms is a particular favourite with MTV stars.

A trip to Vegas is not complete unless you hit up a pool party. Drinks flowing, sun shining, music blaring. Dancing in the pools with beautiful, semi naked party animals. Make sure you head down to rehab at Hard Rock, Marquee at the Cosmopolitan, Encore at the Encore or Liquid at Aria. Love to Party. Love Vegas. Love Life.

Fabulous things to see and do

You will find yourself walking around Vegas with your mouth wide open in awe. The glitz and glam, the weird and wonderful. From the tiniest details to the gigantic scale of the hotels and the flamboyant shows. People watching in Las Vegas is the best in the world. Hundreds of walks of life, in such a condensed space. Just sitting, watching the world go by, but not for long, there’s so much to do!

Venture to a TKTS box office for up to 50% off show tickets. We saw Holly Madison’s Peep Show in PH, I love dance and the arts and my boyfriend likes naked girls. So this show was perfect. A ‘classy’ strip show for the whole family!

If you’re memorised by dramatic circus acts mixed with elegance and a tonne of talent, make sure you see Cirque Du Soleil’s ‘O’ at the Bellagio. It’s the best show I’ve ever seen.

Also at the Bellagio you can observe the majestic fountains. I found the fountains quite emotive, it was lush to escape from the craziness of strip for a couple of minutes and enjoy the calm ambiance.

Moving on to other hotel attractions, take a ride on the roller coaster at NY NY, it’s surprisingly hard core and gets the adrenalin pumped! If you’re a complete crazy cat, you can visit the top of the stratosphere and get spun over the edge of the building, 900 feet up. (I did not go on this, as I didn’t want to fall out and die!) On the contrary if you’re a sucker for a bit romance book a Gondola ride down the Grand Canal, St Mark’s Square- Venetian. It is just like the real thing. Just inside, yet the sky is still blue and the clouds move too! Circus Circus is great for that fun fair feel, or perhaps find your inner Pirate at Treasure Island show every evening on the giant ship.

Feeling peckish? Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, Paris is a must. Enjoy a meal under the Eiffel tower, opposite the Bellagio fountains. You couldn’t ask for a better spot to munch on some yummy French cheese. For a sweeter option, take a hop, skip and jump over to Caesars and sit yourself down at the Cheesecake factory. We had lunch there 3 times and never have enough room for cheesecake. So make sure you save a little hole for that! After being a total fatty then walking miles down the strip in 40 degree heat, it may be time for a slush puppy (everyone loves a slush puppy). But Fat Tuesdays don’t sell any old boring slush. They sell a yard of alcoholic slush! A-maze. Once you get your glass you can keep getting discounted refills! So cheers to being a raging, yet nicely cool and hydrated, alcoholic!

Only in Vegas, will you find Vegas Vic! (Obvs, guess the name gives it away) Just a short cab ride from the strip you will find Old Town Las Vegas. Fremont street was where it all began! You feel like you have stepped into a movie scene, with the 4 queens, golden nugget and fantastic lightshow! Fremont captures the old and new, the timelessness of Las Vegas. Worth a visit for sure.

One of the best things I did in Vegas was visit the Grand canyon and Hoover Dam. It’s different to anything I have ever seen before. I lost my helicopter virginity, and loved it. It was like a magic carpet ride of culture and adventure. You cannot travel all the way to Nevada without seeing the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon.
