3.)    Rock Am Ring

Location: Nürburgring, Germany

Date: June 7th- June 9th

Headliners: Green Day, The Prodigy, The Killers

This festival is made for all you metal heads looking to get abroad this summer and but still wanting to go to a festival. The German summer time is much better than the British summer time, with temperatures reaching up to 30’C on average, so the weather is also guaranteed to be good. The festival is now in its 16th year and is known for attracting many British festival goers each year. Headliners consist of Green Day, The Prodigy and The Killers and with Sonisphere being cancelled in the UK (again), this is a place to go to make up for it.

The festival showcases 3 days of music from all over the metal and rock world, with camping lasting for 6 days. The  festivals will cost you £160, which is 175 euros and to get their it is easy, as the Eurostar goes right to the city it is held in for a return of £90, costing around £250. Overall if you want to experience something different away from Britain this festival is one for you.

4.)    Tomorrowland

Location: De Schorre, Belgium

Date: July 26th-  July 28th

Headliners: Armin Van Buuren, More to be announced soon.

This festival has been attracting a huge following in recent years, after its creation back in 2008 thousands of British festival goers have been flocking to Belgium to enjoy some of the best dance, house and electronic music the world has to offer. The Belgium summertime is nothing like the British summer time, where we get one week of sun, they get temperatures up to 35’C during the summer months so it looks to be a scorcher this year. This festival is strictly for over 18’s only with anyone under the age not allowed to go to this festival, as this is one mainly aimed at adults.

Tickets to the festival cost 172 euros which is about £160 in UK sterling, which will get you a full camping weekend ticket, with day tickets also available at £65 for a single day, which isn’t too bad at all. But the best deal is, for £250 you get a full weekend ticket, return flights from London Gatwick airport, as well as free coach travel from the airport.

Obviously I have mentioned only a small number out of the hundreds on offer all over Europe, but these are the ones that are talked about the most and have a big British following.
