I was in Glasgow today filming for some stuff to do with the BBC and the big clock situated in Central station… you should watch The One Show on Thursday 23rd May to see it. ANYWAY, plugging aside…
All the trains were cancelled and delayed for hours due to some kind of line fault. I killed some hours eating lunch and wandering around the shops with my friend. Then the trains were back up and running and I thought wahey I’ll get back home for dinner time! What a silly idea that was, when I waited for my train all the cancellations came back into effect. Great…
When I finally got from Glasgow to Paisley via another route completely, I was knackered, thirsty and dying for the loo. Nearly 2 hours later I’m on a train that stops at my stop! wohoo!
A funny thing happened on the train that made me stop and smile. In the midst of all the craziness and people standing along the aisle and leaning against doors and trying not to fall, stumble or trip into the other passengers a young woman had taken out her phone and was playing a game. I laughed and pulled my phone out and did the same thing. I glanced back and and she was going through her pictures and smiling to herself as she zoomed in and out of each one. It was the sweetest realest thing I have seen in public for a long time. People all around me were so concerned about themselves and getting home and here was this young woman enjoying the time to remember better places, better people whom she cared about instead of being fed up and angry.
A refreshing moment that made my long journey home that bit more bearable.
