Tour de France 2013: Week 1 in Numbers

After 7 days and 8 stages of racing, here are some of the numbers at the end of the first week:

0 – metres between the roof of the Orica-GreenEDGE team bus and the finish line banner on Stage 1

1 – stage win for Manxman Mark Cavendish on stage 5

5 – different wearers of the yellow jersey: Marcel Kittel (Argos Shimano), Jan Bakelants (RadioShack Leopard), Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE), Daryl Impey (Orica-GreenEDGE) and Chris Froome (SKY)

8 – withdrawals from the race so far: Andrey Kashechkin/Fredrik Kessiakoff/Janez Brajkovic ( (Astana), Yoann Bagot (Cofidis), Edward King (Cannondale), Jurgen Van Den Broeck (Lotto-Belisol), Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ), Maxime Bouet (AG2R La Mondiale), Adriano Malori/Matteo Bono (Lampre), Christian Vande Velde (Garmin-Sharp).

31 – points for leader of the King of the Mountains – Pierre Rolland (Europcar)

51 – second lead Chris Froome holds over Sky team-mate Richie Porte after Stage 8

234 – Peter Sagan’s point haul in the green jersey classification

1345 – kilometres completed in the first week – 2,058.5km to go to the finish on the Champs Elysees

2001 – metres above sea level that stage 8 took the riders to – the highest point in this year’s Tour

Sunday’s stage 9 will be the second and final day in the Pyrenees, before a rest day on 8th July, followed by a flat stage from Saint-Gildas-des-Bois to St Malo on the 9th, where the sprinters will be looking to pick up another stage win.
