Kate Moss returns to Topshop

Cast your mind back to 2007, May more precisely, and you may remember a certain buzz on the high street. Kate Moss launched her debut collection with Topshop with a fancy window display reveal, posing alongside the fashionable range, and in a nutshell, it was a massive hit. Remember the red pansy tea dress? One shoulder LBDs? The debut pieces were a sell-out and were soon found on eBay for triple the price.

If you were a fan of the Moss for Toppers collaborations over the years, (her last offering was in 2010), this week’s news that Kate will release a new Spring/Summer collection for the high street giant next year will be music to your ears and great news for your wardrobe.

The collection, believed to be hitting stores in April, will feature 40 pieces created by Kate with the help of Topshop’s Creative Director, Kate Phelan, and stylist and pal, Katy England. The 2014 collection will include womenswear, accessories and footwear. Speaking of the exciting news, Kate has said in a statement: “I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop. Now more than ever, with London being at the forefront of fashion…it feels like I’m back home working with Topshop.”

I for one am excited to see what the team come up with after Kate’s 3 year hiatus from the brand. Yes, some of the past pieces have been a little on the pricey side (£10 for a vest?!), but some dresses I’ve bought from the collections circa 2009/2010 are still going strong. If we can expect to see more must-have party dresses, gorgeous floral pieces and timeless wardrobe staples, April will definitely be a bad time for my bank balance.
