Welcome To Paradise: Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort and Spa, Gran Canaria

Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort and Spa, Gran Canaria ****

When it comes to holidays, everything has to be perfect – the ideal destination, beautiful weather and plenty to do. But let’s not forget that other all important factor: that perfect place to stay. I mean if you don’t have a nice place to return to after a gorgeous day out, well that’s only going to spoil your mood. So if you’re planning a getaway to Gran Canaria this summer, let me bring your attention to a little gem: the Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort and Spa.

The Lopesan Costa Meloneras resort really is the ideal holiday residence. It is located right on the beach front allowing you easy access to the promenade, along which you can stroll to nearby cafe ’s and shops, and of course Gran Canaria’s infamous sand dunes are just a stone’s throw away. The hotel also has plenty of its own amenities to keep you occupied during your stay. Home to four spectacular pools, finding a place to cool off from the sun should be no problem at all. Perhaps the most spectacular feature of this hotel is its grand infinity pool. Surrounded by lush palm trees, sandy sunbathing spots, and with a lagoon bar on hand, this pool really is the grand centre piece of the hotel. With its tranquil, relaxing atmosphere and the illusion of swimming out to sea, it’s quite easy to lose yourself in this tropical haven.

In addition to its many pools, the hotel also has other facilities on hand to keep you occupied. Residents can try their hand at mini golf, shuffle-board, yoga, a workout using the gym facilities, petanque and water polo to name a few. Indeed there is certainly no time to be bored. The hotel also houses its very own spa for your indulgence. Treat yourself to some body treatments and some well-earned relaxation in the luxurious Corallium Spa – if you’re on holiday you may as well make the most of it. Of course if lounging around the hotel all day really isn’t your thing, fear not! With a bus station just a short walk away, exploring the ins and outs of Gran Canaria couldn’t be easier. Here you can hop on a bus and head to explore some of Gran Canaria’s favourite tourist spots including Playa Del Ingles, Puerto Rico, and Maspalomas, located right alongside the Costa Meloneras hotel. Here you can visit the infamous Dunas de Maspalomas, but beware as this sector is a favourite for the nudists so bear that in mind when you’re strolling along! However, if you’re looking for something a bit more action-packed rather than just lazing in the sun, Aqualand may be the place to visit. Located in Maspalomas, Aqualand is the biggest water park on the Canary Islands, and it certainly makes a fun day out for all ages.

Along with the hotels many indulgences, the food doesn’t fail to hit the spot. There is a selection of various restaurants on offer, including the classy Ambassador and the refined Via Vento, or there is the option of a buffet res-taurant, served in the Atlantico, Alameda, and El Portico, which offers an all you can eat array of food which is themed each night. Indeed there is something to please any palate. There is also the option to dine on the terrace if you so please – an option which is popular during breakfast when the sun is beaming. The breakfasts are certainly note-worthy and it is quite possible to lose half of your day heading up and down from the buffet since there is so much food to devour. Aside from the additional charge if you wish to order freshly squeezed orange juice (which you really needn’t bother doing since there are a huge selection of other juices available for no extra charge), the food here is simply delightful.

With its array of amenities, leisure facilities and ideal location, the Lopesan Costa Meloneras resort is the idyllic holiday residence. The friendly staff make the hotel feel welcoming, whilst the beautiful grounds make it the perfect tropical paradise. Why this place isn’t a five star is simply unfathomable.
